About MUNLER
We’re so glad you’re here. This is the story of how two people set out to make a mirror worth noticing.

It began with an engineer’s eye
MUNLER started on a building site. One of us trained as a civil engineer and spent years on some of London’s most demanding projects, the kind where a material is chosen for how it performs, never for how little it costs.
A site like that teaches you to read a material the way others read a room. To trust steel. To notice the difference a millimetre makes. It is an instinct we never managed to switch off.

Every mirror looked the same
Then one quiet frustration refused to leave us. Every mirror looked the same. The same safe shapes, the same thin aluminium and pot metal, the same small compromise, hanging in millions of homes. For something you stand in front of every single day, it felt like a missed opportunity.
We became convinced a mirror could be the opposite of forgettable: sculptural, asymmetrical, made from materials that belong on a landmark rather than in a flat-pack. The irregular shape was the whole point, a deliberate refusal of all that sameness.

Ten square metres
MUNLER was not born in a studio or a boardroom. It was born in a ten square metre room in London, where we were living at the time. We were twenty eight and twenty four.
We left steady careers behind and poured everything we had into a single idea, in a space barely larger than the mirrors we dreamed of making. That small room was the whole point. MUNLER came out of scarcity, out of the stubborn will to build something lasting from almost nothing.

Two worlds, one obsession
We come from two different worlds. One of us from engineering and the building trade; the other from international relations and law, who chose to build this rather than a career of their own, and who knows every part of it.
What we share is a stubborn belief that things should be made properly, and a willingness to risk a great deal to prove it. We are partners in work and in life, and MUNLER was built by both of us, from that first room.

Made properly, or not at all
To make mirrors properly, we went looking for the few people who still make things properly. We spoke with manufacturers across the world and worked only with those who could meet the standard.
Premium stainless steel, ecological silver glass that is copper free and lead free, and a finish you can feel. MUNLER will not compromise on two things, ever: quality and responsibility. Beautiful to live with, and kinder to the world it is made in.

That is a MUNLER
The name is personal. It is ours, kept deliberately quiet, a signature rather than a spotlight. We have always preferred to let the work speak.
Our hope is a small and stubborn one. That one day someone will walk into a room they have never visited, glance at the mirror on the wall, and simply know. That is a MUNLER.
